Verizon Fios G3100 - How to Set Up DNS Filters

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please ensure that any Parental Controls you find in the Verizon router settings are turned OFF after logging into your router's administrative settings.  If they have Parental Controls, they could cause conflicts with FreeFiltering.

You'll need to set up your Verizon Fios G3100 router to use our "Standard DNS Servers" located on your "Settings" page:

  1. Go to https://192.168.1.1 or the IP address printed on the back of the router.

  2. Enter the username and password printed on the back of the router.  After successfully logging in, we recommend changing the password for logging into your router and storing it securely.  This will prevent someone from logging into your router and making unauthorized changes.

  3. Click "Advanced".  Then click "Network Settings".

  4. Click "Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax)".

  5. Click "Settings"

  6. Click "IPv4 DNS".  From the dropdown menu, select "Use the following IPv4 DNS Addresses".  Then, enter the "Standard DNS Servers" located on your FreeFiltering "Settings" page.  It does not matter what order you enter them in!  NOTE:  Your "Standard DNS Servers" may be different than those pictured below.  Click "Apply".

  7. IMPORTANT:  You may need to re-boot the router for the settings to take effect.  The easiest way to do this is to unplug the power for 60 seconds & then plug it back in.

  8. After the new DNS settings have been applied, try visiting several of the abortion provider websites listed here to ensure your filters are working.
